Here's a little peek at some of our October Math games. We are counting balls with spiders in them and putting them in the matching pumpkin. This is part of our working on making sets from 0 - 5.
We are rolling dice and putting spider rings on our fingers...trying to get ten on our fingers first. We are looking at number webs and matching them with tally marks. This is part of our calendar math skills. Tallying helps us learn how to organize data.
We are matching numbers by counting crows and marking the right number with a clothes pin.
For Science last week, we learned to label like non-fiction writers do. Students created their own spider and labeled it with accurate names of body parts.
And in the ART department, we met with our foruth grade buddies again on Friday and painted our first shared book. Students painted a portion of "I Whistle a Happy Tune" from "The King and I".
